The golf tournament season in 2020 officially started

After a long delay, due to the extraordinary measures due to COVID 19, the tenth golf season was opened in Pirin Golf and Country Club. The first tournament, “Season Opening” took place on June 20 and was attended by 87 golfers from the country and abroad.

All of the golfers participated in a general ranking for the grand prize of the tournament: “Full membership in Pirin Golf and Country Club”. For the winners in the 3 divisions, Pirin Golf & Country Club had prepared golf packages in golf clubs in  Europe: Greece, Romania, Slovakia.The award in the gross ranking was won by a loyal member of Pirin Golf and Country Club and one of the most prominent golfers in the country – Denis Staykov.

The winner in the net ranking in A Division, with a net result of 74, was Alexander Evtimov. He was awarded with a 3-day golf vacation for two at the 5-star Corfu Holiday Palace Hotel. In second place, with net result 75 came Goryan Lazarov. In third place, with 76 strokes, was Ilia El Feleki. In B Division, the first prize, with 39 net Stableford points, was won by Petar Mihalev, who with his good result earned a voucher for 3 nights for two and golf at the Izvor de Golf Hotel, Bucharest. The second place in the division was taken by the Serbian Sasha Makamovic, with a result of 35 net points, the third place with 34 points was taken by Angel Iliev. In C Division, the first prize, with 34 net Stableford points, was won by Petko Lazarov. With this victory he won 3 nights for 2 and golf at Black Stork Golf Resort. Second place went to Zlatan Zlatanov with 31 net Stableford points, and third place went to Elka Georgieva with 30 net points.

The 2nd place winners were awarded with green fees provided by Dolce Hotels & Resorts, Lisbon, London Golf Club, Great Britain. The prizes for the third places in the different divisions were provided by Bulgaria Holidays and Pirin Golf and Country Club, respectively dinners for two in one of the restaurants and SPA packages for 2 in Pirin Golf Hotel & SPA.

All the winners thanked the team and the management of Pirin Golf and Country Club for the excellent condition of the course and the perfect organization. Everyone wished each other many more successes for the upcoming golf season. The day did not pass without the traditional special prizes – the Longest drive and Nearest to the pin. Denis Staykov made the longest shot on the designated hole, and the ball of Hristo Bozhikov fell the closest to the pin position, only 38 cm from the pin flag.

After the official award ceremony and many photos, the evening continued at the Club House Restaurant, with a gala dinner accompanied by a wine tasting from the cellar of Villa Yustina. The official part of the evening ended with a lot of positive emotions, music and wishes for future success.
